25 July

We are on day three of our run to Rarotonga. We covered 168 miles and 178 miles respectively and we are going slower now as wind has gone light. We had two Mahi Mahis on yesterday and I have been prohibited from fishing any more as there is no freezer space. We had one squall after another yesterday and the boat got a good wash down. I set the spinnaker this morning and after an hour the clew of the sail again blew out through an area of prior repair in really quite light wind. Much less than the 15 kts apparent which is the upper limit for the sail. I'm not sure if it's worth repairing it again. Too bad really as it would be very useful today. We should be in tomorrow night or Monday morning depending on our progress. Crew all doing well and every one has their sea legs now. Position at 1430 Local time is 19 42.9S, 156 53.75W, Speed 6.5 kts Course 224 degrees M. Seas 4-6 feet. Quite nice going with a full moon tonight.
