15 July

July 15th, Raiatea, French Polynesia.
Excellent news. Benny arrived yesterday with my new high pressure pump. I swapped it out and bled the engine and miracle upon miracles it started right up. I now have a happy Volvo, I still think this particular engine is rubbish but at least we can get on with our travels for the time being.
Once the engine started, I was again prevailed upon to get a haircut and after all, a deal is a deal and Jennifer did the deed on the afterdeck with her new electric clippers. Photographic evidence of this momentous event does exist and no doubt, before and after shots will appear soon enough.
We will finally get going to Bora Bora tomorrow after a delay of at least a week, no real problem in the grand scheme of things.
