Portland. Oregon, USA

We have just spent a week in Portland with Josette, mostly doing some painting and fixing things in her apartment. All chores are completed now and we are back to San Diego tonight. Portland is much the same as it was last summer but now much colder and rainy. We have visited various breakfast haunts , taprooms and restaurants and even did some quiz nights in two of the local pubs.
They do have excellent microbrews in Portland.
Before we left San Diego, I completed my 100 ton USCG Masters lisence and passed the test so I will have some sort of a ticket to present to the European authorities should they ask for one when we cruise the Mediterranean.
Not so much fun getting up at 0600 and going to school for nine hours a day and learning the Code of Federal Regulations. Redoing coastal piloting with paper charts reminded me what a pain in the bottom it is but I suppose it was a good thing to get a refresher course done.
I'm already looking forward to getting the boat ready and going sailing.
All in good time.
